On many (but not all!) systems, /bin/sh is provided by Bash, so errors like this aren't spotted. Notably Debian defaults to /bin/sh provided by dash which doesn't tolerate such bashisms as '=='. This retains compatibility with bash. --- a/configure.ac +++ b/configure.ac @@ -63,7 +63,7 @@ AC_C_BIGENDIAN dnl Check for SDL libs AC_CHECK_TOOL([SDL_CONFIG], [sdl2-config]) AC_SUBST(SDL_CONFIG) -if test "x$SDL_CONFIG" == "x"; then +if test "x$SDL_CONFIG" = "x"; then AC_MSG_ERROR([*** sdl2-config not found.]) fi AS_VERSION_COMPARE([$($SDL_CONFIG --version)], [2.0.5], [AC_MSG_ERROR([*** SDL version >= 2.0.5 not found.])])
